Brushing her fingertips through her slightly tangled hair, Maya let her eyes scrutinize her own reflection in the mirror hanging in front of her. The school had been relatively quiet lately and since today was Easter, a lot of her peers and the other students had made previous plans to spend time with their families and friends. Including Ryan and Karina, Asia and Asher, and seeing as her own parents decided to vacation this year, Maya agreed to last minute plans with Gabe to visit his grandfather. It was the first time she would be meeting a member from his family, and she wanted to make sure she would leave a good impression. Her eyes found their way back to the mirror as they roamed her chosen outfit. A light weighted shirt which hung over her petite figure and over layed the dark stonewashed jeans that were tucked into her brown leather boots.

The knock on her door forced her focus from her own image and back to the doorway which lead into the main room of her dorm. Flashing a slight smile to herself in the mirror, the light haired girl let out a soft breath, flipping the light switch off on her way out of the bathroom and making sure to pick her phone of from the top of her dresser as she made her way back into the main room. Pressing her lips together as she pulled the door open, only to look up to see the familiar blonde boy standing within two feet of herself. “Hiya, handsome.” she greeted, an almost instantaneous smile finding it’s way to her lips as she stepped to the side, allowing him the choice to step into her room.

After pulling on a blue polo shirt, Gabe fumbled with the bottom buttons before looping his belt through his jeans. The blonde boy slipped into a pair of white Vans before heading over to his bathroom to style his hair. Considering the fact that this was the first time that Maya would be meeting one of his family members, Gabe was determined to make her feel as at home and welcomed as possible. His grandfather was quite a nice man, but he did have a bit of a judgemental side, only because he wanted the ebst for his grandsons. Squeezing out a tiny glob of gel, Gabe ran his fingers through his hair- giving it its usual spiky effect. A dab of cologne and a quick glance in the mirror later, Gabe washed his hands off and shut off the lights in his bathroom, making his way to his mini fridge to grab the cream soda he had promised to pick up for his grandfather before heading out of his dorm.

Walking down the hallway to Maya’s dorm, Gabe decided to plan out the night in his head. Since his granddad would probably expect him to help cook dinner, he thought of topics that him and Maya could talk about to fill any awkward moments- if there were any. Upon his arrival, Gabe knocked a few times on the door before leaning against the doorframe, waiting for Maya to answer. “Hey there, beautiful.” He said with a smile, admiring what she had on before walking inside. “So, I’m ready when you are.”
